Sanitize Your Gymnasium, and Keep it That Way

Initial Floor Preparation, the Beginning: One-Time Only or One, Two and Three-Year Programs

Thank you for reviewing this special brochure about your Gymnasium/Family Life Center. This information is outlined to provide you valuable basic instructions for the safety and continued maintenance of your facility. There is much to consider beyond Fire Retardancy and other Construction Materials and Features.

Much effort should be undertaken considering the potential for serious, fungus, bacteria and other maladies that can affect your gym. In most cases, this is initiated with contact sports. blood spills (body fluids, etc.) are very likely present in your gym. Other “contaminants” can be brought into the gym with street shoes or on clothing in total innocence. While much of this is inevitable, it can be eliminated. And, the gym can be maintained on a routine time line. Only the appropriate methods and cleaners should be used with this cleaning schedule, Avoiding chemicals and cleaners that will reduce the life and luster of your Gym Floor Surface and six feet high wall areas. Thus, our recommendation is not just annual maintenance but rather, a daily and/or weekly schedule – especially after activities are undertaken on the gym floor. Sanitized Cleaning is the only answer to a clean and safe multi-purpose facility. This can be effectively undertaken by your own custodial staff.  And we will teach your personnel the procedures to follow and discuss the materials that should be used. Even if the facility is used for a dining room or special dinners, it can and will be cleaner

Gyms are used for so many purposes throughout the year, including banquets, church dinners and other functions where food is served. Sometimes people are present with serious health conditions, colds & infections. In this regard, it is important to take measures to consider this for anti-problematic gymnasium upkeep. This can best be completed with surface cleaning, disk-sanding and refinishing and an application of cleaners at the outset.  If the gym is older, it may be important to consider Sanding and Finishing for many reasons. A plan would then be devised to maintain this clean, and sanitized environment throughout the year and even for the life of the gym. Where the gym has been maintained well, Disk-Sanding and Refinishing may be all that is needed which would include Sanitization.

As Your “Gymnasium/Maintenance Advisor”

We suggest beginning by:

1)       Completing an overall cleaning of the gym to the extent that you feel is needed. We will provide a detailed outline of all the work needing to be done and submit prices at that time. (We will, of course, make recommendations regarding the full extent of this procedure.)

2)       Price protection: We will quote you one price now for the Routine Maintenance and/or Refinishing, or Sanding & Finishing of your gym. We will do our best to keep the same price for the life of the Agreement: This price will not change except for severe increases in price for the base petroleum products.

3)       We will be available all year long (24/7) to answer any and all of your questions about your gym at no additional costs. If it becomes necessary to do extra work or to purchase other items, we will submit a competitive bid to do this work for you. As a part of this service, we will discuss all information with the gymnasium director and super-visors and with the full custodial staff. We will take the necessary time to discuss a correct program for maintaining the gymnasium area. This and other information (in writing) will provide for your future reference. (All of this will be at no additional charge).

4)       We will come to your gym at any time you feel there is a need to review this problem or discuss ideas. You will never be limited to seeking unavailable advice about this Sanitizing Process. Due to the nature of this work, we

are limited, in most cases to gymnasiums located approximately 350 miles from Atlanta, Georgia. We can sell

the products and provide the instructions for this process. For larger or multiple jobs, we can travel a greater

             distance.

5)       Nearer the end of the initial agreement for any work you wish to have completed, you may choose to continue with us, or you also may choose to invalidate the agreement at anytime and for any reason.

6)       If you do not wish to participate with a special agreement for work as outlined in this brochure, please contact us for a price to complete any work you may be planning.

Over the years, it has been our practice to meet an official or with your committee and/or with your board

to discuss this. We usually take less than 15 - 30 minutes at any scheduled meeting. We will do this whenever

              possible.

With Kind Regards,

             Frank D. Larkins, Ed.D.
